RetinaVue 700 Handheld Retinal Camera — Used Non-Mydriatic Imager

Hillrom Welch Allyn RetinaVue 700 used — touchscreen showing right and left retinal imagesThe Hillrom / Welch Allyn RetinaVue 700 handheld retinal camera brings non-mydriatic fundus imaging to the point of care. The RetinaVue 700 handheld retinal camera aligns to the pupil, focuses and captures automatically, so medical assistants and technicians can acquire gradable images of the posterior pole with minimal training. Every capture receives an on-screen quality check, so a retake happens while the patient is still in the chair.

A 60° field of view and a 2.5 mm minimum pupil size let most adult patients be imaged without dilation drops. The 5-megapixel sensor records 2592 × 1944 images that are reviewed on a 4.3-inch color touchscreen, and Wi-Fi connectivity sends exams to the RetinaVue Network (subscription required). This used unit ships with its hard-shell case and AC power adapter, ready for exam rooms, satellite clinics and mobile screening programs.

A study published through the National Library of Medicine describes a family medicine practice that used a RetinaVue 700 Imager to offer in-office diabetic retinal exams, with images sent to an eye care specialist for interpretation, closing annual-exam quality-measure gaps for its patients with diabetes.

Why Practices Choose the Welch Allyn RetinaVue 700

Hillrom Welch Allyn RetinaVue 700 used — patient-side eyecup of the handheld retinal camera

  • Auto-alignment, auto-focus and auto-capture — the camera locates the pupil and fires on its own, reducing the operator skill needed for consistent images
  • 60° field of view — a wider retinal view per image than the 45° field of typical tabletop non-mydriatic cameras
  • 2.5 mm minimum pupil — images most patients through undilated pupils, saving drop and wait time
  • Immediate image quality feedback — confirms readability before the patient leaves
  • Infrared preview, white-LED capture — comfortable alignment in a darkened room with a brief natural-light flash for the exposure
  • Wireless workflow — Wi-Fi transfer of exams to the RetinaVue Network for remote reading
  • Hard-shell carrying case included — protects the optics and electronics during transport between sites
