Topcon NW400 — Used Non-Mydriatic Retinal Camera

Topcon TRC-NW400 used non-mydriatic retinal camera — front viewThe Topcon NW400 (TRC-NW400) is a fully automated non-mydriatic retinal camera built for fast, consistent fundus photography without dilation. Auto-alignment, autofocus, auto-capture, and automatic eye-to-eye movement mean any staff member can produce high-quality retinal images with no prior photography training. The 45° field of view captures the full posterior pole in a single image, while 9 internal LED fixation targets support systematic documentation of the retinal periphery in the same session.

Small-pupil photography down to ø3.3mm (ø4.0mm at the full 45° angle) — assisted by the small-pupil aperture, digital zoom function, and overlay mask — lets the Topcon NW400 image the vast majority of patients without dilation drops, cutting chair time and patient discomfort. The rotating 10-inch color touch panel allows the operator to stand or sit beside, behind, or across from the patient, making the camera practical for compact exam rooms and corner installations. Anterior segment photography and an auto stereo mode extend the camera beyond routine color fundus work, and DICOM compliance plus shared-folder export enable direct integration with PACS and EMR systems.

This used unit ships as the camera body with power cable and dust cover.

Non-mydriatic fundus photography is a clinically validated screening method: a 2026 systematic review indexed by the National Library of Medicine evaluates the comparative diagnostic accuracy of photographic methods for detecting diabetic retinopathy.

Why Practices Choose the Topcon TRC-NW400

Topcon TRC-NW400 used — patient side with chin rest and objective lens

  • Full automation — auto-alignment, autofocus, auto-capture, and automatic optical-head movement from one eye to the other with no operator intervention.
  • 45°/30° imaging — full-angle 45° covers the posterior pole; the 30° digital-zoom equivalent highlights optic disc and macular detail.
  • ø3.3mm small-pupil capture — small-pupil aperture, digital zoom, and overlay mask keep image quality up in miotic and elderly patients.
  • 9 internal LED fixation targets — adjustable peripheral fixation for systematic documentation of the retina beyond the posterior pole.
  • Rotating touch-panel control — the 10-inch color touchscreen turns toward the operator, so the camera works from any side of the patient.
  • Anterior segment photography — document lids, iris, and cornea with the same instrument.
  • Auto stereo photography — stereo pairs are acquired without manually repositioning the optical head, useful for optic nerve evaluation.
  • DICOM connectivity — built-in DICOM compliance and shared-folder export for PACS and EMR integration.
