Used Reichert ClearChart 2 Digital Acuity System
The Reichert ClearChart 2 is a self-contained digital acuity system designed for both optometry and ophthalmology exam rooms. The 19″ LED backlit display operates on a custom Linux platform with no hard drive or cooling fans — providing quiet, reliable performance without PC dependency. Simply wall-mount, plug in, and start testing.
The infrared remote gives the examiner full control from anywhere in the room, cycling through chart types, test modes, and patient education slides without returning to the unit. The system supports a comprehensive optotype library including Snellen, Sloan, HOTV, Landolt C, Tumbling E, and three pediatric symbol sets (Allen Symbols, Kolt-like symbols, and additional images), with random sequencing to prevent memorization. Contrast sensitivity testing is built in via sine-wave grating and contrast optotypes, and the system is ETDRS protocol compliant.
The ClearChart 2 covers a refraction range of 6 to 31 feet and features adjustable Red/Green compatibility with any refraction system, including direct integration with the Reichert Auto Phoroptor RS. A cartoon loop with synchronized sound provides pediatric fixation without handheld accessories. Custom video and image content can be imported via USB for practice-specific patient education.
