Topcon SL-7E Slit Lamp — Used Workstation with Optilasa Tonometry
The Topcon SL-7E is a Galilean-type binocular slit lamp designed for detailed examination of the anterior segment of the eye. The system combines a binocular microscope with a dedicated slit illumination system, allowing clinicians to independently manipulate the microscope and illumination for detailed examination of ocular tissues and media.
The SL-7E incorporates a revolver-type objective changing system, 12.5× eyepieces, and five selectable fields of view: 5.6 mm, 8.8 mm, 14.0 mm, 22.5 mm, and 35.1 mm. The microscope provides a pupillary adjustment range of 55–75 mm and diopter adjustment from −5.00 D to +3.00 D.
The illumination system provides continuously variable slit width and length, together with multiple aperture settings and integrated diagnostic filters. The SL-7E is specified with cobalt blue, red-free, 13% neutral-density and heat-absorbing filters.
This particular configuration includes an Optilasa tonometer, visible on the listed unit and specifically identified by the seller as included.
Why Practices Choose the Topcon SL-7E & Optilasa Tonometer
- Topcon Galilean Optical System — Binocular Galilean-type microscope designed for detailed stereoscopic examination of ocular structures.
- Five Selectable Fields of View — Provides fields of view from 5.6 mm to 35.1 mm, allowing clinicians to move between broad examinations and more detailed visualization.
- 12.5× Eyepieces — The SL-7E uses 12.5× eyepieces for binocular examination.
- Revolver-Type Magnification System — Allows rapid selection between the available magnification levels.
- Adjustable Slit Illumination — Slit width and length can be continuously adjusted for different examination techniques.
- Diagnostic Filter Selection — Includes cobalt blue, red-free, neutral-density and heat-absorbing filters.
- Integrated Optilasa Tonometer — The listed configuration includes an Optilasa tonometer, allowing intraocular-pressure measurement as part of the examination setup.
- Established Ophthalmic Platform — The SL-7E is documented in clinical and ophthalmic research environments and has also been used with photographic imaging configurations.
Clinical Applications
- Routine anterior-segment examinations of the cornea, anterior chamber, iris and crystalline lens.
- Corneal evaluation and detailed examination of ocular surface structures.
- Cataract and lens evaluation through high-magnification biomicroscopy.
- Fluorescein examination using the cobalt-blue filter.
- Ocular surface and tear-film evaluation.
- Glaucoma examinations as part of a comprehensive slit-lamp assessment.
- Intraocular-pressure measurement using the included Optilasa tonometer.
- Fundus biomicroscopy when used with appropriate external diagnostic lenses.
- Ophthalmic photography and documentation when configured with compatible imaging equipment; the SL-7E has been documented with digital camera configurations.
