Topcon SL-D2 Slit Lamp — Used with Optilasa R-900 Tonometer
The Topcon SL-D2 slit lamp is the three-magnification model of Topcon’s digital-ready D-series. Its Galilean optics use converging binocular tubes and a parallel magnification body with 12.5× eyepieces, giving 10×, 16× and 25× views for comfortable stereoscopic observation from a broad anterior overview down to fine corneal detail. Slit width and length are both continuously adjustable from 0 to 14 mm, and the illumination arm rotates through 180°.
This used Topcon SL-D2 slit lamp ships with an Optilasa R-900 applanation tonometer, a Goldmann-type instrument with a 0–80 mmHg measuring range, so IOP can be measured during the same slit lamp exam. Because the SL-D2 is a D-series model, it also accepts Topcon’s DC-4 digital camera attachment if the practice later adds imaging.
A 2025 study indexed by the National Library of Medicine compared classic mechanical and digital Goldmann applanation tonometers, supporting Goldmann-type applanation as a clinical reference method for IOP measurement.
