Condition & Warranty
Used. This unit has been checked and its refractive functions are working well; it shows some signs of use, visible in the photos. Before shipping, every lens is individually cleaned and the dial buttons are lubricated, which may add a short delay to shipment. The built-in lights have not been tested because no power cable came with the unit — the illumination may or may not work, and the buyer is responsible for obtaining the correct power cable to test it. Covered by a 90-day warranty on parts and workmanship; the illumination is excluded from the warranty.
Marco RT-700 Phoropter — Used Minus Cylinder Refractor
The Marco RT-700 phoropter is a manual, minus-cylinder refractor from Marco’s illuminated line, built for fast, repeatable subjective refraction in optometry and ophthalmology lanes. This used Marco RT-700 phoropter covers sphere from +16.75 D to −19.00 D and cylinder to −6.00 D (−8.00 D with the auxiliary lens), with a cross cylinder synchronized to the cylinder axis and a 0–20Δ rotary prism. Its auxiliary dial puts the retinoscopic lens, Maddox rods, red/green lenses, polarizing lens, pinhole and occluder one click away, so the whole refraction stays in the instrument.
Clinician-guided refraction still matters: a 2026 study in the Journal of Optometry quantified the professional’s impact on subjective refraction outcomes compared with self-driven testing (National Library of Medicine, PMID 41771238).
