Zeiss Visucam PRO NM FA — Refurbished Fundus Camera with Fluorescein Angiography

Zeiss Visucam PRO NM refurbished — fundus camera with FA on electric table with monitorThe Zeiss Visucam PRO NM in its FA configuration combines non-mydriatic color fundus photography and fluorescein angiography in one compact, refurbished imaging system. This Visucam PRO NM captures 45° and 30° images with a 5.0-megapixel sensor, and its small-pupil mode reaches undilated pupils as small as 3.3 mm — so routine retinal documentation rarely requires dilation, while FA is available on the same instrument when a case calls for it.

For practices that need angiography but not autofluorescence or ICG, the Visucam PRO NM FA covers the most commonly ordered retinal imaging studies at a lower cost than the full multimodal configuration. Images are stored in the integrated database and can be exported over the network, by USB or to DVD.

A randomized study published through the National Library of Medicine found excellent agreement between the Visucam PRO NM and the reference Zeiss FF450plus camera for grading diabetic retinopathy (kappa 0.87) and macular edema (kappa 0.80), concluding the Visucam is a cost-efficient, easy-to-operate option for 7-field stereo photography.

Why Practices Choose the Zeiss Visucam PRO NM FA

Zeiss Visucam PRO NM refurbished — close-up of the non-mydriatic fundus camera head

  • Color photography and FA in one unit — Non-mydriatic color fundus imaging for screening plus fluorescein angiography for leakage, non-perfusion and neovascularization.
  • 45° and 30° field angles — Wide posterior-pole overview or a magnified macular view from the same instrument.
  • Small-pupil capability — Non-mydriatic capture through pupils as small as 3.3 mm in 30° mode (4.0 mm in 45° mode).
  • 5.0-megapixel Zeiss optics — Sharp, detailed retinal images suitable for documentation and grading.
  • Auto flash mode — Illumination adjusts automatically to pupil size and fundus pigmentation for consistently exposed images.
  • Monochromatic and stereo capture — Red-free (green), red and blue channel images plus an easy-to-use stereo mode.
  • Internal and external fixation with Automap — One-click fixation switching and automatic montages of peripheral images.
  • All-in-one workstation — Integrated computer and database with image comparison and review tools.

Clinical Applications

  • Diabetic retinopathy screening and grading — Non-mydriatic color photography for annual exams; FA to stage proliferative disease and macular edema.
  • Retinal vein and artery occlusions — FA maps capillary non-perfusion and leakage in BRVO and CRVO to guide treatment.
  • Age-related macular degeneration — Color documentation of drusen and pigment changes; FA to identify choroidal neovascularization leakage patterns.
  • Glaucoma and optic disc documentation — Color and stereo images of the optic nerve head for baseline and follow-up comparison.
  • Hypertensive and other retinal vascular disease — Red-free imaging highlights vessel caliber changes, hemorrhages and microaneurysms.

Who This Is For

  • Ophthalmology practices adding in-house FA — Angiography without the cost of FAF and ICG modules many practices never use.
  • Practices with large diabetic populations — Fast non-mydriatic screening with FA available for staged or symptomatic patients.
  • Retina co-management practices — Documentation that supports referral and treatment-planning workflows.
  • Clinics replacing an older fundus camera — A Zeiss digital platform with integrated database and electric table included.
