Retinomax K Screen — Used Handheld Auto Refract-Keratometer

The Retinomax K Screen (Retinomax K+ Screen) is a portable, handheld auto refract-keratometer built by Right Mfg. that brings objective refraction and keratometry to the patient instead of bringing the patient to a benchtop instrument. The Retinomax K Screen measures sphere, cylinder, axis, and corneal radius of curvature from one lightweight device, which makes it well suited to children, wheelchair users, and bedridden patients who cannot be positioned at a table-mounted autorefractor.

A 3.5-inch low-reflection color LCD tilts upward through a 100-degree range, so the operator can follow alignment and readings from almost any position. A color-coded focus assist (red too near, green OK, blue too far) guides alignment, and the device reports the cylinder axis angle and automatically compensates when it is not held level.

The handheld Retinomax platform has published clinical support: a study indexed by the National Library of Medicine evaluated the accuracy of the Retinomax K-plus3, the previous generation, for measuring refractive error in a pediatric population.
